Boat Storage FAQs

We’re serious about taking good care of your boat.  In addition to our premises being purpose built and completely flood-free, our whole complex is secured by round-the-clock motion detection CCTV, three metre high outer perimeter security fence and vigilant onsite management. Plus, our internal secure storage areas are enclosed behind electronically locked roller doors.

Our customers are given a unique PIN Code that allows entry and exit through the electronic security gate at any time of the day or night and our all-concrete hardstand holding yard is designed to facilitate easy access without risky manoeuvring in tight spaces.

Combine all this with our experienced and dedicated staff who’ll take care of your boat as if it was their own, and you can rest assured that your boat is as safe as safe can be.

If you’re storing your boat for a lengthy period, get it checked over and have any repairs or maintenance work done before it’s put into secure storage. That way, your boat will be ready to go when you are.

Make sure your boat is clean, both inside and out and don’t leave any perishables or unused bait behind. Unclean boats can become unpleasantly smelly, develop mould or cause damage to upholstery and fittings.

It’s usually a good idea to disconnect your battery and clean the battery terminals and leads.

Yes we do. You can flush the motor yourself or we can do it for you.  Salt water can be damaging so it’s a good idea to use the washing facility at Big Boys Toy Storage.  We have a coin-operated high pressure water cleaner and foaming brush so you can wash your boat thoroughly or we can do it for you.
